An algebraic expression which contains two terms is called a binomial
Pupils can come out with further examples and Please look in to examples for Binomial
Now let us learn about "Multiplication of Two Binomials"
Rule: Multiply each term of one binomial with each term of Another binomial and simplify by adding the like terms. While
multiplying binomial even the signs have to be multiplied.
Example: Find the product of 3a + 7b and 5a + 2b
Solution: Multiplying each term of one binomial with each term of another binomial and adding the like terms, we get:
3a + 7b
X 5a + 2b
15 a² + 35 ab [Multiplying (3a + 7b) by 5a]
+ 6 ab + 14 b² [Multiplying (3a + 7b) by 2b]
The product is 15a² + 41 ab + 14b² Answer
