Good Afternoon!!! my dear friends...i enjoy writing for you guys everyday and therefore i just think of the topics that i can share with all of you. Today i have come up with a familiar concept "Division of a Monomial by a Monimal".
Dividing a Monomial by a Monomial:
Steps to be followed are:
Step1: Arrange the monomials in fractional form, keeping
the dividend as numerator and the divisor as
denominator
Step2: Divide numerical coefficients
Step3: Divide literal coefficients
Step4: Divide the signs
(i) + ÷ + = +
(ii) + ÷ - = -
(iii) - ÷ - = +
(iv) - ÷ + = -
Step5: Multiply the results
Example: Divide – 32p²qr³ by - 4pqr
Solution: We have,
– 32 p²qr³ ÷ (- 4pqr)
= – 32p²qr³ [Arranging the monomials in fractional form]
- 4pqr
= 8 p²qr³ [Dividing numerical coefficients and signs]
pqr [- ÷ - = +]
= 8 p r² [Dividing literal coefficients]
= 8pr² [Multiplying the results]
The quotient of – 32 p²qr³ ÷ (- 4pqr) is 8pr² Answer
