Explain Triangle Math

Introduction to explain triangle math:

A triangle is one of the basic shapes of geometry: a polygon with three corners or vertices and three sides or edges which are line segments. A triangle with vertices A, B, and C. the triangle is explained in the following content.(source: Wikipedia)

If a, b and c are three collinear points, the figure made up by three line segments AB, BC and CA is called a triangle.

The elements of a triangle are,

1. Side AB

2. Side AC

3. Side BC

4. Angle ABC

5. Angle ACB

6. Angle BAC

Explain triangle math -Area of the triangle:

The space covered by the triangle on the surface is called area of the triangle.

Perimeter of triangle:

The distance around the outside of the triangle is called perimeter of triangle.

Types of triangle:

Triangle is classified by its side and angle.

Based on the sides:

1.Equilateral triangle

Math formula:

Area of equilateral triangle (A) = a2 `sqrt(3) /4` square units

Perimeter of equilateral triangle (P) = 3a units

2.Isosceles triangle

Math formula:

Area of isosceles triangle (A) = `1/2` bh square units

Perimeter of isosceles triangle (P) = 2a + b units

3.Scalene triangle

Math formula:

Area of scalene triangle (A) = `1/2` bh square units

Perimeter of scalene triangle (P) = 2a + b units

Based on the angles:

1.Right triangle

Math formula:

Area of right triangle (A) = `1/2` bh square units

Perimeter of the right triangle (P) = a + b + c units

2.Obtuse triangle

Math formula:

Area of the obtuse triangle (A) = `sqrt(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c))` square units

S = `1/2` (a + b + c)

Perimeter of the obtuse triangle (P) = a + b + c units

3.Acute triangle

Math formula:

Area of the acute triangle (A) = `sqrt(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c))` square units

S = `1/2` (a + b + c)

Perimeter of the acute triangle (P) = a + b + c units

Explain triangle math -Property of triangle:

The sum of the angles of a triangle is 1800
The external angle of triangle is equal to sum of opposite internal angles.
The sum of any two sides of a triangle is greater than the third side.
AB+BC > AC

AB+AC>BC

AC+BC>AB

Pythagoras theorem:

In a right triangle, the square of the longest side is equal to the sum of squares of the remaining two sides.

AC2 = AB2 + BC2

The above explained content will be  very helpful to study of triangle math.
