Use Math in Everyday Life

Introduction to use math in everyday life:

The word "mathematics" comes from the Greek (Mathe)which means math use in everyday life learning, study, science, and additionally came to have the narrower and more technical meaning "mathematical study", even in Classical times. Maths is used in our everyday usual life in several ways. For example, we measure the length of a cloth for stitching, the area of a Room for white washing, the perimeter of a ground for fencing and the volume of a bottle for filling water. Let us discuss some problems under the topic use math in everyday life.

Example problems for use math in everyday life:

Ex 1:

It takes 5 men 8 hours to construct a house. How long will it take 10 men to do the job if they work at the same rate?

5 men=> 8 hours

10=>`5/10` x8

=>40/4

Answer: They will take construct a house 4 hours.

Ex 2:

Last month, john earned salary `$` 500. This month he earned salary `$` 700. Find the percentage increase in his salary earnings.

Sol:

Increase salary = $500 – $700 = 200

Percentage increase = `200/500` x100%= 40%

The salary earnings percentage increase is 40%.

Ex 3:

Last month, john earned salary ` $`3000. This month he earned salary `$` 1500. Find the percentage decrease in his earnings salary.

Sol:

Decrease = $3000 – $1500 = $1500

Percentage decrease = `1500/3000` x 100%= 50%

The salary earnings percentage decrease is 50%.

Ex 4:

Rose deposits $6000 in a bank account, bank paying at the rate of 7% per year, compounded and credited annual continuously. Find how much will he have at the end of 4 years?

Here p=$6000, n=4, r=7 /100.

Annual compounded interest = P (1 + r)^4

=6000(1+0.07)^4

= 6000.00 is worth  7,574.86

Understanding Partial Fractions Method is always challenging for me but thanks to all math help websites to help me out.
